A father and son were killed, and five others injured in a shooting after a high school graduation ceremony in Richmond, Virginia. The victims have been identified as Renzo Smith, 36, and his son, Shawn Jackson, 18. The shooter, identified as 19-year-old Amari Pollard, is in custody and charged with second-degree murder.
The motive for the shooting is unknown. Witnesses heard around 20 shots and chaos quickly ensued, resulting in stampede-related injuries and a 9-year-old being hit by a car. The shooting has left the community shaken, and Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney questioned if anything is sacred anymore.
