A 26-year-old mum, Nasrin Saleh, has been jailed for four and a half years for causing the death of her passenger, Luqman Mehboob, in a horrific car crash. Saleh was "euphoric" on nitrous oxide when she crashed her Volkswagen Golf GT into a wall, causing it to flip and burst into flames.
CCTV footage showed her driving at over twice the speed limit just before the accident. Saleh admitted to "doing balloons" with the victim before driving and also had about 45 canisters of nitrous oxide in her possession. The judge described her actions as "grossly excessive speeds." The victim's family spoke of their pain and loss in court.
