A mother has been found guilty of murdering her three-year-old daughter by drowning her in the bath. Claire Colebourn wrongly believed that her estranged husband was having an affair and spent weeks researching how to kill by drowning before carrying out the act.
She held her daughter, Bethan, under water despite her pleas not to have a bath. Colebourn's husband had arranged to see Bethan, but when he arrived at their home days later, he discovered his daughter was dead. The court heard that Colebourn had become obsessed with the idea that her husband was cheating on her and had made false accusations against him.
