Police investigating the disappearance of 21-year-old Chloe Mitchell in Ballymena, County Antrim, have launched a murder inquiry after suspected human remains were found in the area. Mitchell was last seen on 3 June and searches for her had focused on the Braid River. Two men, aged 26 and 34, were arrested as part of an earlier criminal investigation and remain in custody.
The community, including the Community Search and Rescue organisation, has assisted police with search operations. Regional commander of the Community Rescue Service, Sean McCarry, said his team was searching all waterways and all areas as part of the search.
