An 11-year-old child has tragically lost their life after becoming unresponsive while on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to New York. The child, who reportedly had a disability, was given first aid by the cabin crew and a doctor on board the flight.
The pilots sought permission to make an emergency landing at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, where medics rushed to attend to the child. Despite their efforts, the child was unable to be saved. It is believed that the child involved was an American boy travelling with his family. The flight departed for New York several hours after the emergency landing.
