A Madrid-based startup has designed the Chaise Longue Economy Seat, a double-decker plane seat that offers more legroom and the ability to recline to a 125° angle. The seat, prototype of which was initially made by Alejandro Núñez Vicente himself in 2021 using planks, provides more privacy for passengers and eliminates the problem of reclining etiquette since no one sits directly behind.
The firm claims that the seat has the possibility of accommodating more passengers and could fit any passenger class. Mr Vicente's design has been recognized by industry bigwigs such as Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates, and the seat prototypes are available for anyone to view in the Metaverse.
The Chaise Longue Economy Seat could be a game-changer in the constant effort to improve the passenger experience on long-haul flights.
